For best fit these are a little on the small side for sizing as a guide: Small is roughly an 8, medium a 10 -12, large is a 14-16, XL is a 18-20 if you are in between or your like a looser fit go up one size from what you normally wear. 
 
1x 2x and 3x is longer in the body, wider accross the chest and slightly longer in the sleeve.
 
one of or size triallers is a size 10 and could fit a small but the medium felt more comfortable.
our second trialler is a size 18 and the Large fit but stretched a little over the bust the XL was more comfortable and had a bit more flow.
